This work, written by a member of the National Association of Environmental Professionals, challenges the assumption that environmental impact assessments (EIAs) should be structured around a unitary assessment process. Addressing eight recurring problems in EIA practice and providing solutions, the author shows how each solution would operate at the regulatory and applied levels, looks at how well each solution satisfies EIA process characteristics, and tells how to combine EIA processes to deal with overlapping problems.
